Opening of Old Town

A collaboration of work by Jeff Hogue, Mark Kuykendall, and myself.

The show is a collection of work inspired by a family home footage. The content is a Christmas parade in downtown Tulsa in the 1950's. The parade, on it's own, is bizarre and psychedelic with themes of Alice in Wonderland- including a cameo of The Caterpillar and the Queen of Hearts. 

I became interested in the film because how conscious the filmmaker was with his in-camera edits, chosen angles and vantage points. Aside from techniques, he used 16mm color film which, at this time, was primary for commercial or professional use and expensive to purchase and develop. This gentleman used it for home footage with no intention of showing or selling. 

As a group, we used shots from the footage as inspiration for our pieces.

WEBSITE UPDATE/////

finally, I did a much needed website update. I added a little, changed a little, and took a little out. there's a new set of galleries and some images have been added to old ones. more will be added once I scan more work. hope you guys like it, give feedback.

baltimore.

baltimore has brought good luck and growth. my dad is as strong as i've always believed and has come from his surgery like a hero. i'm so proud of him.
i've met some really amazing people here and also realized that i have some amazing friends that care and support me. i love you guys.
